From its high windswept granite tors to its oak forested river valleys and mysterious prehistoric caves, Dartmoor is a wonderful place to take a group of young people for an adventure activity based team building course.

Devon Adventure Training has been providing Prince's Trust Team Adventure Activity Team Building Residential Training Courses since 1991 and during this time our courses have evolved to allow Prince's Trust Team Volunteers the opportunity to build confidence, gain a sense of personal achievement, form a strong team and develop skills that are relevant to present or future workplaces.

During the Prince's Trust Team Adventure Activity Team Building Residential Training Course regular reviewing takes place, looking at the group's leadership, teamwork and communication skills. Essential leadership techniques such as Task Management and Project Management are discussed, explained and related to the next ten weeks of the course and future work.

Devon Adventure Training understand the challenges that delivery partners face running these amazing Prince's Trust Team Courses and we work very hard to develop a strong and lasting relationship with you and provide everything in the most helpful and flexible way possible.

Due to limited availability of our courses it is important that you book as early as possible. Most groups book more than a year in advance because once we are booked in any particular week, we cannot accept any other groups.

Devon Adventure Training is extremely safety conscious and see your group's safety as its primary concern. Instructors are experienced, suitably qualified and CRB checked. We are licensed by The Adventure Activities Licensing Authority 029 2075 5715. Activity categories covered by the licence: Climbing, Watersports, Caving, Trekking. Specified Activities: Kayaking, Open Canoeing, Improvised Rafting, Rock Climbing, Abseiling, Gorge Scrambling, Hill Walking & Mountaineering, Caving. AALA Reference No: R0280 Licence No: L8375.

A booking can only be accepted if a residential centre and Devon Adventure Training are available.

We try to be as flexible as possible because we know that recruiting can be difficult and some teams need to be able to postpone.

Accommodation can be booked at several bunk houses on and around Dartmoor although we mainly use The Pengelly Centre. There is limited accommodation suitable for Prince's Trust Team groups around Dartmoor, therefore booking early is essential.

The Pengelly Centre which will invoice separately, charge £10/person/night with a minimum charge of £120/night and a winter surcharge from 1st October to 31 March of £10/night.

To see a list of accommodation used, visit our Centres Page.

All centres have to be kept tidy and cleaned prior to departure and most, including The Pengelly Centre, require that you remove your refuse.

Transport in our 16 passenger minibus can be provided for groups, please contact us for details and costs.

Devon Adventure Training is a licensed PSV operator and insured for "Hire and Reward" transportation.

Transport costs are calculated as follows:

Transfer to/from your base to the centre = £2/mile.

Transport to/from activities = £80/day.

Transport to/from activities is not charged on transfer days.

This is all very confusing, so here are a couple of examples in the hope of making it a little clearer.

1. Group of 10 people plus Team Leader with their own transport attending a 4 Day Course in April staying at The Pengelly Centre:

Activities = £1800
Accommodation = 3 nights x £120 minimum charge = £360

2. Group of 14 people plus 2 Team Leaders attending 5 Day Course in October with 24 hour cover staying at The Pengelly Centre with transport supplied from Swindon (140 miles):

Activities = £1860

24 hour cover = £250
Accommodation = 4 nights x 16 people x £10 per night charge = £640 + winter surcharge £40 = £680

Transport: Transfers = 140 miles x £2 x 2 trips = £560. Activities = 3 x £80 = £240. Total = £800
